How do I use the Bestway® Test Strips?
Close Me
Test Strips test “Free Chlorine”, “pH” and “Total Alkalinity” levels.
1. Dip one strip into water, no more than 46 cm (18”) below the water surface and remove it immediately.
2. Hold the strip level for 15 seconds to avoid reactant dripping from one test pad to another.
NOTE: Do not shake off excess water.
3. Compare results immediately by lining up the 3 test pads to the easy color match chart on the bottle.
How much salt should I add in my pool the first time I set it up and when I change the water ?
Close Me
The optimum salt level in the pool water is 3,000ppm ( 3g/L ); you can find the specifications in the Owner’s Manual.
Is it necessary to add salt during the usage period after having added the initial quantity?
Close Me
It is not necessary to add more salt if you have already added the specified amount. Salt loss is only due to physical removal of pool water. Salt cannot be lost due to evaporation. The only time you need to add salt is when the level of chlorine tested by the BESTWAY test strips is below 2ppm and the operating time is as stated in Table 2 and Table 5 in the Flowclear Chlorinator Owner’s Manual.
